28 Apr PDCA Brings New Life to YMCA Camp H.R. Erdman’s Hānai Pono Building
The Painting and Decorating Contractors Association (PDCA) of Hawaii and its members connected with YMCA Camp H.R. Erdman to refurbish its central infrastructure, the Hānai Pono Building. The project was completed in January 2025 and is a part of PDCA’s yearly community service initiative, Trade Promotion and Charity, which aims to support Hawaii’s local organizations.

The process of professionally painting and revitalizing the Camp Erdman’s Hānai Pono Building was performed by a member contractor with the Painters Union. Paint and supplies were also generously provided by a PDCA member.

“The dedication, attention to detail, service mindset, flexibility, and professionalism of the crew who did the work were top-class. PDCA accomplished it all safely while hundreds of the children we serve were on-site and using the building,” says Andrew ‘Mish’ Hood, YMCA Camp Erdman’s Senior Executive Director. “Thanks to the PDCA of Hawaii, the Hānai Pono Building hasn’t looked this good since it was built back in 1973.”
The quality and craftsmanship of the completion of the YMCA Camp Erdman project is a testament to PDCA’s Trade Promotion and Charity mission of painting a brighter future for Hawaii’s generations to come.
